Owned and operated by MGM Resorts International, the Circus Circus features circus acts and carnival type games daily. The giant circus tent shaped main structure actually is the largest permanent big top in the world.
When it openend in 1968, the facility only included a casino, instantly resulting in financial problems. In later years several hotel towers were added.
On the famous ‘Carnival Midway’ section, the scenes were filmed for Diamonds Are Forever, in which Tiffany ‘wins’ the diamond-stuffed elephant at the water balloons, while being observed by both Bond and the CIA as well as the smugglers. The water balloon game is still there but is somewhat modernized.
