Grandhotel Pupp in Karlovy Vary
Grandhotel Pupp featured as Hotel Splendide in Casino Royal (2006)
The world famous Grandhotel Pupp is one of the oldest traditional hotels in Central Europe. It is situated in a picturesque part of the West Bohemian spa town of Karlovy Vary - a place of healing springs, beautiful architecture and gorgeous nature.

The history of the Grandhotel Pupp dates back to 1701.The next generations of Pupps followed his legacy; the boom of the Grandhotel Pupp culminated with the purchase of the Eye of God House, which was added to the complex in 1936. Today the hotel embodies the atmosphere of the “good old times”.

In 2006 much of the action in Casino Royale centered around this hotel, which became 'Hotel Splendide' in Montenegro.
Even some interior scenes were filmed at Grandhotel Pupp
Bond and Vesper's arrival and check-in were both filmed on location. The hotel is conveniently located close to the other locations from Daniel Craig's debut Bond film: The Mill Colonade (which featured as Montenegro Train Station) and most importantly the Kaiserbad Spa, which doubled for the Casino Royale.

The late night dinner Bond and Vesper enjoy, between the different parts of the poker game, was also filmed on location: It takes place in the hotel's restaurant.
